When a pilot is the right next step

A useful demonstration is only a starting point. Your team needs a workflow that fits its systems, handles exceptions and produces results people can check. This engagement focuses on a specific problem, the people doing the work and the evidence needed to decide what happens next.

What we work through

  1. Scope a real workflow

Choose a bounded use case and document its inputs, outputs, owner and exceptions. Agree what the pilot will and will not do.

  2. Build and test

Select an approach suited to your existing systems and data. Test against representative examples, including failure cases, with appropriate human review.

  3. Coach the team

Help colleagues use the workflow, assess its output and understand when to intervene. Build confidence through practical work and clear operating guidance.

  4. Measure and decide

Compare results with the original baseline. Review time spent, rework, quality and adoption, then agree whether to refine, roll out or stop.

Helping the change take hold

We listen to the people affected, surface concerns and agree the support they need. Managers should model the new practice and make time for learning. Role-specific guidance, a named champion and regular feedback help turn a pilot into a workflow the team can sustain.

Useful adoption is about whether work improves. We review quality, rework and confidence alongside usage, and discuss changes in responsibilities openly.

What you take away

A tested pilot for the agreed workflow, practical guidance for the team and an outcome review that supports the next investment decision.

Where this can help

Potential pilots include an internal reporting assistant, a support knowledge workflow or help with engineering administration. My employed-role experience includes coaching colleagues without coding backgrounds to deliver engineering administration tools and school network diagnostics. These examples inform the approach; they are not claims of consultancy client results.

What to bring to a first conversation

Start with one workflow and someone who understands it well. We will establish what access and example data are appropriate before any implementation. If the opportunity is still unclear, begin with an AI strategy review.
